Staunch support for the activities of DMA Central Committee
Rajeev Joseph didn’t confine his activities within the area limits of DMA Sreenivaspuri. With his international exposure and experience as an organiser of sports and cultural activities and as a talented artist he could contribute substantially in various functions and events organised by DMA Central Committee. He is associated immensely on various functions like annual events at Sirifort Auditorium, Onam Celebrations, Pookkalam (flower Decoration) Competitions, Diamond Jubilee Sports Meet etc. till this time. He was an Editorial Board Member for the DMA Souvenir 2007. As an expert in Magic he has performed magic shows in different stages organised by DMA.
Rajeev Joseph has always taken noteworthy initiatives and lead role in people friendly activities and taken special emphasis on Railway passengers safety related issues. He took a lead role in Parliament March on Railway Safety in August 2010, organised by DMA and other Malayalee Associations in Delhi & NCR. As a representative of DMA, he participated in the Railway Protest March to Faridabad Railway Station on 3rd July 2011, organised by Faridabad Malayalee Association and other Malayalee organisations in Delhi & NCR.
At present Rajeev Joseph is leading DMA Sreenivaspuri Area. He took initiatives to revitalise otherwise dormant Sreenivaspuri Area Committee after 10 years break and subsequently he was elected as the Convener of area Ad-hoc Committee on March 7, 2007 and elected as the Area Chairman in July 2007. Again he was re-elected as the Area Chairman for second term unanimously in May 2010. Meanwhile, recognising his organisational capabilities, the DMA Central Committee bestowed upon him the crucial responsibility as the Convenor of DMA Malayalam Language Study Centres. It is pertinent to note that within a record time of 2 months, as Convener, he undertook the herculean task of opening 23 Malayalam Language Study Centres initiated by Govt. of Kerala in different parts of Delhi with the support of DMA Area Committees.
Rajiv’s association with DMA dates back to 1985. As a team member of National Cycle Safari from Kerala organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangatan in support with Govt. of India, he reached in Delhi to participate in the Independence Day Celebrations 1985, the International Youth Year. He met and interacted some of the DMA office bearers at that time. Again in 1987, as part of his World Cycle Tour to spread the message of World Peace and formation of a World Government he interacted and presented his vision before a number of national leaders including then DMA President and Central Minister Mr. M.M. Jacob. Also he met a number of DMA office bearers and associated with DMA Kidwai Nagar till 1990. After living altogether 16 years in different cities in India and 10 years in abroad when he came back to Delhi in 2006 he organised DMA activities in Sreenivaspuri. In 2007 he formed the area committee and more vigorously worked for DMA utilising his expertise and best practices, Rajeev Joseph carries an innovative vision with him for the development of the organisation and Malayalees in Delhi, for that he has to shoulder a more responsible role in the central decision making body.
