Gandhi Jayanti Celebrations 2011 ( by Congress South Indian Forum)
Congress South Indian Forum (Delhi State Committee) celebrated Gandhi Jayanti in an elaborate way on 2nd October 2011 at Nurses Residential Complex, Sreenivaspuri in the eminent presence of congress leaders, Gandhians and social workers representing various organizations related to Gandhian thought and Philosophy.
The program started with the ‘Floral Tribute’ before Gandhiji’s portrait, followed by Flag Hosting and Speeches on ‘Gandhi Smruti, Signature Campaign in Canvas for Religious Harmony, All Religion Prayers and an Exhibition on Gandhi ji. Prizes of the ‘Painting Contest on Congress History’ distributed at the function. A cultural bonanza presented by the children and a Documentary on Gandhi ji, produced by National Gandhi Museum and the English feature film ‘GANDHI’, directed by Richard Attenborough screened.
The celebration was inaugurated by Rajeev Joseph, State President of Congress South Indian Forum. Fr. Joseph Kavalakkattu, Adv. James P. Thomas, Sajeev M.K, Suresh N, Paul Simon, Thankachan O.N, Roy Daniel, Parag Sharma and Adv. Sajeev Joseph delivered the speeches on Gandhiji.
