Population Rising : A Challenges Ahead
Population around the world is alarming increasingly and it is in the form of an explosive nature in third world countries. At the end of 2011 it will reach 7 billion and India will accommodate about one third of it. In this contest New Delhi YMCA organised a symposium on ‘Population Rising: A Challenge Ahead’. Participants include social activists, economists, experts of population studies, scientists, representatives of women organisations and religious leaders. Rajeev Joseph played a active role in the symposium and the preparation of the reports based on the opinions and suggestions came up in the symposium. An elaborate report on the pros and cons of population growth and the applicable remedies to sail through the consequences of such a situation was submitted to Ministry of Health and Family welfare, Govt. of India.
